Jamie and Jeff’s Pleasantdale Chateau wedding trailer

I recently filmed the wedding of Jamie and Jeff at The Pleasantdale Chateau and I must say, it was a magical day. The love of family was so present throughout the day and I was very honored to be there to capture those loving and beautiful moments.

1. What were the theme and colors of your wedding? The theme was ‘classic’. St. Teresa of Avila is a large stone Castle-esque church, as if out of a fairy tale. The Pleasantdale Chateau fits a similar mold with its unique stone designs across various old European French and Spanish styled rooms, setting the cozy, romantic backdrop for our day. Colors were Yellow and Ivory

2. How did you decide on this theme? Jamie is a classic girl – always tastefully put together and elegantly carrying herself.

3. How did you meet each other? It was around spring break, junior year of college. My close high school friend named Dan (the piano player in the band) went to NYU and frequently visited his family and friends nearby in Randolph/Morristown. I was home in Short Hills, NJ for a few days before flying back to Northwestern in Chicago on Sunday. He called me on Friday saying this girl he’s been seeing has a friend in from out of town and that we should all hang out. Jamie lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, but was visiting a college friend of hers in Morristown, NJ. Dan came over with the two girls and I immediately fell for Jamie the moment I saw her walk in the door. That night I took everyone out for a night dancing in NYC where Jamie and I had our first kiss. Then the four of us hung out again the following night…I rescheduled my flight back to school, so we could spend more time together. Then I rescheduled my flight a second time and then a third. My college roommates were wondering if I was ever going to come back. The rest is history.

4. How long have you been dating? We met March 2009 so, about 8 years

5. How did he propose? Third times a charm…. #1: Skating in Bryant Park New York – a string of rainy days and general disappointment surrounding the November presidential election quickly derailed the plan. #2: Scheduled private dinner at an old tiny favorite restaurant of ours downtown – Jamie didn’t take the bait and refused to get ‘dinner with her friend’. #3: Finally, frozen yogurt is a nightly staple of ours, so I picked up an empty cup from Pinkberry, put the ring box inside, slipped it into the bag when the delivery arrived and encouraged Jamie to open the bag first leading to quite an enjoyable evening at home with a couple nice bottles of wine and champagne.
