The Meet:
Salvatore & Francesca met in September 2008 through mutual friends. Their first date was at Starbucks, and Francesca remembers it was down pouring rain and she didn’t want to go because she was “So Nervous”. As soon as Francesca met Salvatore, she knew he was the one for her. As Francesca puts it. We are the same person. We have so much in common; he is literally my other half. Francesa knew Sal was the one when she asked him to go to the movies for their 3rd date to watch High School Musical. Francesca felt that For a guy I just met, to watch that I knew he was a keeper!
Salvatore always said he would get married when he was 35 years old. So Francesca never expected a ring anytime soon. He never dropped any hints of proposing. The night before he proposed, Francesca remembers clearly, he said, I don’t want to get engaged for another 4 years. So NEVER did she expect it the next morning. Every Sunday morning Sal & Francesca frequent the diner for breakfast. As Francesca states, We have been doing that since we met, it’s our favorite thing to wake up early every Sunday morning and go eat breakfast. Sunday, November 24th, 2013, Sal texted me later than usual, it was 9:45 am he texted “Hurry let’s go get breakfast before it’s too late”. So I quickly ran in shower, threw on sweats, no makeup, hair was wet. He got to my house 10 minutes later. He texted “here”, so I go outside and Sal is standing in front of the car, I said “Sal get back in the car its cold”. The next thing I know, he opens the car door and there are millions of balloons everywhere!! I look back at Sal and he is on one knee. I immediately started to cry & was in COMPLETE SHOCK!! Sal asked, and I couldn’t even respond quickly enough because I was in shock. I said Yes! Yes! Yes! I NEVER expected it to happen because all he would say to me is we aren’t getting engaged for years. That was the BEST Sunday of my LIFE!!!! And no, we never made it to breakfast! Ha! Ha! Ha! I was too excited to eat.
